EPCH hopes to double business

The Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) today expressed confi¬dence of almost doubling its business transaction during the handicrafts and gifts fair starting here later this week.

"Last year we bagged export orders worth Rs 1,200 crore overall, with nearly 4,500 buyers. This year, we expect the export order for a single sector of handicrafts to be in the region of Rs 1,500 crore, with around 7,500 buyers," . EPCH's past chairman, Mr Navratan Samdria, said.

The five-day Indian Handicrafts and Gifts Fair (IHGF) will begin on 13 October.
